Install Couch in about two minutes.

You need Google Chrome on a laptop or desktop. Got an invite from your person? Couch is free for you: no account, no card. Do steps 1 to 6, then open their link again.

    Download Couch

    Get the file below. It's small and takes a second.

    Unzip it

    Windows: right-click the file, choose Extract All, then Extract. Mac: double-click it. You now have a folder called couch. Keep it somewhere you won't delete it, like Documents.

    Open Chrome's extensions page

    Copy this into Chrome's address bar and press Enter:

    Turn on Developer mode

    It's the switch in the top right corner of that page. This is only needed because Couch isn't in the Chrome Web Store yet.

    Load Couch

    Click Load unpacked (top left), and pick the couch folder from step 2. Couch appears in the list with Scoot, our little pink fluffball, as its icon.

    Pin it

    Click the puzzle piece next to Chrome's address bar, then the pin next to Couch. Now Scoot is always one click away.

    Have the plan? Connect it

    One click, so Couch knows the seat is yours. Invited by your person? Skip this one and open their link again: it takes you straight in.

Then start your first couch night

Open Netflix, Prime Video or YouTube, start your show, click Scoot and press Start a couch night. Your invite link is copied. Send it to your person and they land right next to you.

Updating Couch

When Couch shows you an update note: download the new file, unzip it, and replace the files inside your couch folder with the new ones. Then open chrome://extensions and click the round arrow on Couch. Your sign-in and settings stay as they were.
