Terms of service

Last updated 30 September 2026

Draft for review before launch. Details in [brackets] still need filling in.

These terms are between you and [legal entity name], [registered address] ("Couch", "we"). By using Couch you agree to them. We've tried to keep them short and plain.

What Couch is

Couch is a browser extension and website that keeps a video playing in sync for two people and lets them see, hear and message each other while they watch. Couch does not provide, host or stream any films or shows. Each of you watches on your own account with the streaming service, and that service's own terms still apply to you.

Couch isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Netflix, Amazon, Google, Disney, Hotstar, Warner Bros. Discovery or any other streaming service. Their names are used only to say which services Couch works with.

Your plan

  • A Couch plan costs $4.99 a month (₹499 in India), plus any taxes shown at checkout. It renews every month until you cancel.
  • One plan lets its owner host parties. A party is made for two: the plan owner and one guest, who doesn't need a plan.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your full card details.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Couch keeps working for a short while and we'll ask if you want to try again. If it still can't be paid, hosting pauses until it is.
  • You can cancel any time from your account. You keep Couch until the end of the month you've paid for. See cancellations and refunds.
  • If we ever change the price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it affects you.

Fair use

  • Keep your account and sign-in links to yourself.
  • Don't use Couch to share content with people who aren't allowed to watch it, to harass anyone, or to break the law.
  • Don't try to get around the two-person limit, the payment checks, or our servers' protections.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules. If we do, we'll tell you why.

Couch is new

We work hard to keep Couch running well and we ship improvements often, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs, or that every streaming service will keep working with it. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the last three months.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. Questions: hello@kindehaus.com.
